We convinced the kids that they wouldn't miss much if the missed their class Chirstmas parties, so we took them out of school on Friday and got on the road early morning. We got to Lubbock about 12:30, picked up Abuelo's for us, Gwen, Hank and Mammaw for Mammaw's birthday lunch, and headed to their house to enjoy the good food and good company.

After our little lunch break, it was time for the Shorty Express (this is what my dad calls himself when he delivers things to us kids, so since we delivered Christmas presents to Chuck and Kat, we were the honorary Shorty Express this trip) to head on to Amarillo for a little redevous with Chuck and Co. at the Belmar Bakery (and to get rid of a box of Christmas presents so we could move some stuff to the trunk!)

Then we caught up with Chuck and the girls as we stopped for treats at our favorite Amarillo sweet shop...mmmmmmm....bar cookies! Here we are loading the Christmas presents into their van before our treats!
After our short stop at the bakery, we headed on to Dumas to stay the night in the La Quinta there. The boys loved the indoor pool before bed that night...

Warming up in the hot tub after swimming...the pool water was nice, but the air in the building was pretty cool, so a dip in the hot tub got them toasty before freezing our way up to the room!
We slept pretty good that night, got up, ate the continental breakfast and headed on to Denver. We made it to Kat's about 2:00 or so and got to play the rest of the afternoon and enjoy dinner and her newly finished basement! Stay tuned for more...
