First Day of School - Jace

No tears this morning!!! Wahoo!!! He's growing up, I guess...Jace was genuinely excited to see his friends and get going to school this morning. Can't wait to find out how his day went. Here he is with his new backpack on rollers:

Meet the Teacher for Jace

So, on Wednesday night, we got to go up to the school to find out who Jace's teacher would be. I'm so happy that he got the only teacher I had heard really good things about, not to mention she is good friends with his first grade teach who we love. Also, there are at least 5 kids in his class that he knows from last year, 2 of which are pretty good friends of his. After we looked at his class list, we took him to dinner at Pei Wei and then went to Borders for a new book.

On Thursday night, we got to go to Meet the Teacher night. His teacher is so nice. Brett loved going to Jace's "big school" and coloring at his desk. Here area a couple pictures from that night:

One last trip to the zoo...

On Thursday, we went to the zoo for one last fun trip before school starts. We met my friend Margaret and her kids and the kids she keeps there so the kids could get one more outing. Jace really wanted to see the rhinos (I think just because Brett hates going over there because it STINKS!) and feed the lories (also because Brett hates them...luckily Margaret stayed out with him and the baby she keeps so I could go in without him). I'm so glad I got one of Brett smiling since he told me when we got there that he doesn't smile at the zoo...what a lier!!! Here are a few pics:

New Pictures of the boys:

So, before we went to Odessa, I took new pictures of the boys (special thanks to Grammy for wanting a picture frame to make me take new pictures finally!). We usually do blue bonnet pictures, but this year with no rain, there were no wild flowers! So, these were a few of my favorites in Grandma and Granpa's front yard:

We love Wii!!!

We took a little trip to Odessa the first week in August to get one more visit in before school. While we were there, we celebrated 4 birthdays since we have Jace on July 28, Grammy on August 10, Pop on August 16, and Brett on September 11.

So, Matt's parents totally spoil my kids! They got them a Wii for their combined birthday present, and we totally love it. We have had a blast playing it. If you don't have one, you should totally invest.

Happy Anniversary to us...LATE!

August 9 marked 11 years for us. I know it's cheesy to say, but I can't believe it's been that long! We tease each other about putting up with each other for so long! This year, we got Lise to sit with the kids over night so we could get a hotel room and have a little alone time. We also did loads of house stuff Friday afternoon/evening and all day on Saturday. It was good to get stuff done. So, even though it's late, happy anniversary, honey! I love you...

Crazy kids...

OK, so this is a silly little post just because my kids recently discovered line dances (which is fortunate in that it makes me exercise a little bit and unfortunate because for the most part, I hate line dancing...excluding the shim sham which is more of a tap dance). Anyway, Jace learned the Macarana at school last year, and then we went to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday (along with Grammy, Pop, Heather, Phil and Kade). They did this thing where the kids could dance for free tickets, and so now they know about the Cha Cha Slide...whice is really pretty fun and I'm sure it will get old after a while just like all the others. Anyway, as a tribute to my kids and their "line dancing is great" stage, check out my music...
