WAHOOOOOOO! Our house is under contract!!!

Well, our big news is that we have a contract on the house! We are so excited! We have been working hard this week moving stuff out and we had our friends, Ryan and Michelle, come over yesterday. For those of you who don't know, Ryan and I go way back to high school, and his wife, Michelle is great. They were kind enough to hang out with the boys yesterday afternoon while we worked moving furniture out of our house and over to Grandma's.

Here is a great action shot of Ryan and Michelle playing Butthead after seeing it on our blog last week. Ryan left a comment that next time they came over, he wanted to play...what he didn't count on were the pictures Matt took!

The boys have really enjoyed living at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The space they have to play is so much more and yesterday since the weather was nice, they played out in the backyard almost all afternoon (feeding the ducks, trying to build a fire with Ryan and Michelle...let's just say Ryan's not a boy scout!, sliding down the slide, digging in the rocks...you name it, they did it yesterday!)

And since I took a picture of his boat a few days ago, Brett now thinks I need to take pictures of ALL his creations! So this is his spaceship and his babies are taking a nap nearby:

Playing Crazy Games!

OK...So my mom has this game called Butthead, and we let the boys play it the other day. They had a blast...I even got a few pictures of Matt in the crazy hat, but he wouldn't allow me to post it! :-) Anyway, basically, you put these velcro hats on and then chunk balls at each other's heads...

Go, Brett, Go! Go, Jace, Go!

So, as we are moving stuff over to Grandma and Grandpa's house, Jace and Brett have discovered toys that they haven't played with in a long time. One of which is "100 Hoops" which is a little basketball game that teaches counting by 1s and skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s...plus Spanish, if you want. Anyway, they play with it nearly everyday after I hooked it to the bunk beds. And then, they are ALWAYS acting silly! :-)

They made it!

Well, Mom and Dad made it to Bulgaria! Without their luggage! It is the middle of the afternoon there and we just got up! The time difference is going to make communication interesting. Dad says it is beatiful there. Their apartment is in the old Cuban Embassy building, and it is about 100 steps up the street from the Mission Office. Dad is already up and running email on his laptop at their apartment. He'll send pictures tonight. I can't wait for Skype to work so we can hear their voices and see their faces. More as I know it! At the church building, the stake presidency has plaques made for each missionary from our area. Here is a picture of Mom and Dad's...their return date is wrong, but they're up there!

Row, row, row your boat!

Well, this week has been quite busy and after a small refridgerator disaster yesterday, there was no time for the long-promised after-naptime canoe trip. Jace was so sad last night that we ran out of time, so Matt promised that they would bundle up and go this morning before church. Brett came in about 6:45 this morning and around 7:00, Jace comes in fully dressed in layers with his hooded jacket on ready to go on his canoe ride! Not only did he dress himself, but he got Brett dressed after Matt told him they couldn't go until they were all dressed. When they came back in, I discovered that Brett had on a sweater, a sweatshirt AND his hooded jacket! They had a great time...and we made it to church on time! :-)

Mom and Dad at the MTC

Mom and Dad have been at the MTC in Provo, Utah for almost a week now. Mom said she bore her testimony in Bulgarian the other night and Dad actually understood her! They have been fortunate to see quite a few people that they know while they have been there. The Nelsons are in our ward in San Antonio, too. MOm and Dad leave the MTC for Bulgaria this coming Friday. Below is a little scrapbook page I did to put on the bulletin board at church:

We just moved into my parents' house while they are serving a mission in Bulgaria. This is the boys' room after they turned their bunk beds into a pirate ship the first day we were here.
