Their Favorite Things...

Among the many presents, Jace and Brett got a couple of new games for the Wii. One is Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix (which they love but it's really a Game Cube game and it needs a memory card to save progress so we ordered one after Christmas), and the other one is Wii Play which we have really enjoyed:
On Saturday, Jace decided to rearrange his train to a figure 8 with his new train track from Santa and incorporate his hot wheels track, too. He called Grandma and Grandpa to tell them about it and wanted to show them pictures:

Christmas Day 2008

So, we made it to Christmas! We had a good morning. Brett got up at 5:30 and we were able to keep him quietish in our room until Jace got up at 6:45. Matt's dad had Jace promise to wake him up when he got up, so they all got up, too! We opened presents, which is a free-for-all at our house (no waiting for each person to open...we just pass them out and start opening). Then of course we did stockings...with scratch-offs from Matt's parents and red neck scratch off-ers from Lindsey. A big breakfast of scrambled egg casserole and biscuits held us over until we had turkey and dressing and the works later that afternoon. Pictures to prove it all:

Christmas Eve

Matt's family came in on Christmas Eve and stayed until Saturday morning. We had as much fun as we could have with them while suffering through our cedar fever. They were very tolerant of our allergies!

That night, the boys helped bake cookies for Santa (which Pop thought were the yummiest), we read the Christmas story and sang happy birthday to Jesus (using the real candle, Dad!).

Here are a few pictures of Christmas Eve before the mess.

The tree (kind of blurry, but it's the best I have!):
On Tuesday night, we let Jace stay up a litle late and set up his train around the base of the tree:
Mom, this ones for you...see all the pretty wrapping and bows???
