Making Floam Critters...
So today was kind of relaxing. Jace was home today (he has really bad allergies and just felt crummy this morning), and Brett was easy-going. I got 4 or 5 loads of laundry done and a bathroom cleaned, so I think I did pretty good! Jace was feeling better by the afternoon, so we decided to pull out the Floam Critter kit that Grandma left for us to do. I think we waited too long to use the kit since the floam was really sticky (Jace and I had it all over our hands!), but we got the critters made. The kids had a fun time. Here they are with their creations:
Brett with his Robot Grasshopper (he says it will keep all the monsters out of his room at night...where do they get this stuff???):

Jace with his 4-Eyed Spider (he doesn't have monsters any more!):

Brett's Fiesta Party
OK, so those of you who are not from San Antonio or somewhere in the south near Mexico probably have no idea what Fiesta is...I didn't until I moved to San Antonio. Basically, everyone spends a week partying. The kids even get a holiday for it on Friday. It's pretty silly if you ask me...I'd rather them get out of school a day earlier, but no one asked me. AND the kids do have a great time at their fiesta parites. Cascarones (confetti eggs) are the hit of every party. Here are a few pics of Brett's school party (it's a pretty big production):

It's been WAY too long!!!
OK, so I have a few pictures to share from the past 2 weeks...the first one can go in here b/c it's not about anyone. It's just a cool thing that Jace discovered last week. We have a few potted plants on the deck out back, and Jace noticed that a bird has built her nest and laid her eggs in one of the plants. Here is a picture:

Snaggletooth Jace...
Go Roadrunners!
Jace has suddenly decided that he has school spirit. Unfortunately, the school is out of the school shirts that I offered to buy him at the beginning of the year. So, since he really wanted one, I decided to make him one. Using the iron-on printer paper I bought a few years ago for a project I never did, a $5 baseball shirt from Academy, and a few minutes on PSE, I made a pretty darn good lookin' shirt, if I do say so myself! Of course, I had to test out my ironing skills on another shirt first, so Brett got one, too.

Let's go SWIMMIN'

I'm such a slacker!!!
No pictures this week...well, OK...I have a few of Brett on my camera so I'll post those later.
The weather has been so nice this week. Yesterday it hit 90, so we went swimming after school...the kids were so excited! It's supposed to be 85 today, so we will probably go again since Saturday it will be too cool.
We've been busy searching for house stuff, having meetings with our house people and working with our designer to get our plans finished so that everything will be ready to go when it's time to start bidding and building. Check out the house blog for more information on what's up!

Fun on the farm with Brett's preschool class...
We took a little field trip to a local farm with Brett's preschool last week. He wasn't too crazy about the animals until it was time for the pony ride. Here are a few pictures:
Brett playing in the big sand box (he would have stayed here the whole time if I'd let him):

On the hay ride:

Checking out the chickens...Brett said this one liked him:

FINALLY...the pony ride:

Happy building rock towers instead of seeing the animals:

Do you ever feel like...
When you're in a conversation, do you ever feel like you just don't have any idea what the other person is talking about? Or in a meeting where they ask your opinion on something and you don't have one? Sometimes this is how I feel when I'm having a coversation with my kids! My friend Grayland sent this to me today, and I'm not sure why it's so funny but...

(Dedicated to Kat and her scout calling...I love you!)
