Ah, Christmas in Odessa! Always the most fun! When we got in that Friday night (after the 2 school parties and a 5-ish hour drive), the boys were bouncing off the walls and wanting to know when we were having Christmas!!! Grammy asked us to bring our own stockings so Brett was anxious to get the stockings hung...here he is, full of himself, after finding places for all the stockings to hang.
Here's Grammy and Pop's little Christmas tree...the presents took up more room than the tree!!!
Grammy let the boys open one present the night before we did Christmas the next morning. They got boom boxes for their rooms. Jace was super excited and Brett said, "Um, I don't think I'm supposed to have this!" I think we might need a lesson in gratitude...again...
The next morning, the kids got up about 7:00, which is normal, and they were so excited! Here are some pictures from our "Christmas" morning...
Stockings first!
Hey! What did Brett get?
Gotta have scratch offs in the stockings!!! Matt, are you sure you're awake?
Opening a new Wii game...
Pop perks up open presents...
Brett with his new Lego set...
Hot Wheels for Jace
Trying out the new Wii game...this one's fun!
Pop is amused with watching the kids play their new game.
Learning by watching...Brett always watches first before playing.
Matt still looks like he just crawled out of bed.
And finally Matt perks up to race Mario Kart with the boys and Pop.
We had a great time spending time with them for the weekend. It's so fun to spend time with them, and the boys can never get there fast enough and can never stay long enough. And we can never thank Grammy and Pop enough for all the things they do for us and all the advice they give us. I could not ask for better inlaws.
On a side note, Grammy and Pop got to come to church with us on Sunday morning to Heather's ward for their Christmas program. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to play the flute with their choir for a few songs and it was great to get to work with Heather again. Plus we got to see Heather, Phil, Kade and Carter as well. Fun times!
